Delta Process Systems sponsor trans-Atlantic row to support wounded servicemen

In December 2010 Lee McNamara will set off for the first part of the 2 Hopes back-to-back rowing epic as he attempts to row singlehandedly from La Gomera in the Canary Isles to Antigua – or in other words across the Atlantic. Upon Lee’s arrival in Antigua the 2 Hopes Craft will be shipped to Geraldton in Western Australia where Rob Eustace will set off from to singlehandedly row to Mauritius – The Indian Ocean. Between them they will row 2,550 Nautical miles.

2 solo rows – 2 oceans – 1 boat – 2hopes

The boat, 7 metres x 2 metres, weighing approx 200kg is constructed from carbon fiber, and Kevlar and is one of the lightest boats of its kind ever constructed. This will be home to Lee and Rob for 60-90 days each.

Delta Process Systems, a modern firm of fabricators based in Birmingham is one of the proud sponsors of this epic row. Delta Process Systems are highly customer focused, offering a friendly and efficient service on-time and to budget. As a business Delta Process Systems are always looking for ways to support various charity fundraising events and help with local community projects. When approached by Lee McNamara to sponsor this trans-Atlantic row they were extremely keen to become involved and support this worthwhile project. All sponsorship raised is going to Help the Heroes and BLESMA, two charities helping raise money so wounded servicemen and women can get the help that they deserve.

Lee and Rob have had both personal and family involvement in the armed forces and both BLESMA and Help for Heroes are charities close to their hearts. Over the last few years the UK armed forces have been involved in some of the heaviest fighting they have experienced since the Second World War and servicemen are now almost routinely wounded on the battlefield. Once home a lot of these servicemen with their families need help in rehabilitation and recovery in order to get them back on their feet which is where BLESMA and help for Heroes comes in.
